Are you there Moriarty?

Santas warm up

We had a Santa Fun Run last Sunday which was very well attended and enjoyed by all. Here are some Santas warming up, but they look as if they might be limbering up for a game of Are You There Moriarty? - a daft game which involves hopping on one foot while whacking each other with rolled up newspapers. I think I might make this into my Christmas card for this year.

Our Lights Switch On and Christmas Market is this Saturday, so my stress levels are fairly high, but at least the lights are up on the lamposts and buildings in town, the tree has been put up in the park and the weather forecast isn't too horrendous (so far). I think I have all my ducks in a row, so here's hoping for a successful day. I'll let you know.

We did have the road closed - don't be alarmed by the car in the distance, that's me and another steward who were at the 2.5k turn-round point just coming slowly along behind.

Autumn getaway Last week we had a few days away staying in a place called Torlundy, which is near Fort William. We rented The Garden Flat from a lovely lady called Moira and had a great time in beautiful sunshine going for walks. We walked up Glen Nevis beside the river, which was quite low but you can see from the patterns cut into the rocks that the water level is usually a LOT higher. Rosy Mamma We've had a spell of very settled, though cold, weather and it's been giving us great sunsets. The round bits of cloud hanging from the bottom of this stratocumulus layer are called 'mamma' - pretty obvious why. They were more defined two minutes before this picture was taken, but that's the thing about photographing sky - by the time you've dashed off and got the camera, the view has changed.
