In the village just up the road from us there lives a sound engineer by the name of Ben. He had the bright idea of turning his great big upstairs landing into a wee concert venue.
It seats about 40 people (all very cosy and squished up together) and is a lovely venue for informal, friendly music performances.
Everyone pays a tenner and the money all goes straight to the performer. On Friday night we went to see the talented, quirky (there's a tiny bit of the Ivor Cutler about her musical style) Inge Thomson.
You may know her as one of Karine Polwart's backing musicians, where she brings an interesting 'less is more' style to the art of adding percussion.
It was a lovely evening, with lots of lovely people all appreciating Inge's songs and arrangements. The friendly vibe is enhanced by Ben's two kids in their jimjams, curled up on cushions in the front row, enjoying the music too!
The next gig will be on the 1st of March with the Bevvy Sisters - check out Ben's FaceBook page to keep up with what's on - and book yourself a seat if you're in the area!
