It seems to be spring! I went out without the woolly hat and gloves for today's Maisie walk. Admittedly, I may have been a tad foolhardy - my hands were a teensy bit purple by the time we got home - but there were leaves unfurling on the hawthorn bushes and crocuses gleaming jauntily in the front gardens. And this cherry blossom coming out already - very different from last year when everything was still sullen and grey right up to the end of March. I'm sorry the picture's a little blurred - Maisie kept jerking the lead as I was trying to take the photo.
In the garden the garlic and broad beans which I planted in November are coming along fine.
I must get the heated propagator and the John Innes seed compost on the go and start the tomato, courgette and pepper seeds off. Time has crept up on me this year, I'm usually tempted to start the seeds much too soon, but I think we should be just right if I get them sown today.
This week is also momentous because my Talented Daughter's second book came out on Wednesday. What do you mean you didn't pre-order it when I told you to? Go now and get it for your Kindle. It's called The Secrets of Ghosts. You'll enjoy it.
