Well, just because the daffodils and jasmine are blooming and I've sowed tomato, pepper, courgette and basil seeds in the heated propagator, doesn't mean you can go and do THIS.
I mean, obviously the beautiful sunny weather wasn't going to last, but snow? The cold winds and freezing rain put a crimp in our geology field trip on Friday, then the car played up and curtailed our visit to Stanza (the St Andrews poetry festival) on Saturday (and Scotland lost to Wales in the 6 nations rugby, but we won't talk about that) and to cap it all the threatening blizzards stopped us going to the SECC in Glasgow yesterday for the Hobbycraft and Creative Stitches show. Rats. That was going to be the Mother's Day treat for me and my fabulous daughter. Oh well, there's always next year.
But the snow made SOMEBODY happy!
Maisie had a lovely time today - rolling in snow, digging in it, snurfling through it and biting it.
She's learning stuff. She knows 'Sit' and she knows 'leave it', although I think this latter may be a case of her training me rather than the other way round, because I'm sure she goes and looks for stuff to pick up so that I'll tell her to leave it and give her a treat when she does.
She got weighed at the vet's today and she's now 2.3 kilos - so growing nicely. I've got to give her a worm tablet tomorrow. Lucky Maisie.
