Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good festive season. We danced and sang our way into 2010 in the company of family and friends at our local ceilidh (and next day at home courtesy of the Wii Beatles Rock Band - thank you Number One Son). We have been snowbound for three weeks now and quite honestly most of my focus has been on having enough food and drink and warmth for everyone, but in spare moments the craft project that sprang to hand was this little fella ... Not the Easter Bunny, honest! My Dear Husband brought the knitting pattern back from one of his camping/canoeing expeditions - this one to the Lake District. He bought it from a wonderful shop called "Temporary Measures" and I made it up using a ball of lovely Debbie Bliss "Cashmerino" yarn. (a blend of cashmere, merino and acrylic) which is fabulous to knit with (smooth, no splitting or fuzzy bits) and comes in gorgeous muted colours. The pattern makes all the limbs decrease towards the ends that join with the body, thus building in extreme floppiness. It's quite a cute little rabbit, and helped by the idea of lining the ears with some nice material (I used a Liberty print - if you don't have some in your bits-and-pieces bag then Clothkits will provide you with a nice selection of fabric, and while you're there you should check out the sewing kits for dolls, clothes, bags and cushions too.
